I've known, since I was six years old, I was different from the others around me and I possessed special abilities others didn't seem to have.  My first memory was waving a flag on the fourth of July parade as my grandfather held me up high and whispered in my ear about my responsibility to defend America and  freedom. I've been fascinated with freedom and the American way every moment since then.

The first time I tested these powers I was seven. My family was poor and I wanted to go to the swimming pool, but needed fifty cents for admission.  In a moment of spontaneous entrepreneurial thought I decided to pick some vegetables from the family garden, load them into my little red wagon and take them door to door in our neighborhood. When my neighbors opened their door I focused my secret power on them and asked them to buy some vegetables, and they all did...all of them.

As I swam that day, full of accomplishment and light, I felt the water rush over me giving me even more strength and power. In a moment, I knew I would have to be very careful with the power God had entrusted to me.  I knew instinctively I should only use it for good. But, I was only seven, and I was naive to the ways of the world. I especially didn't know about the Dark Ones who's anti-energy fields and light penetrating weaponry I would eventually do battle with for my very life.
